Central Staff Attorney

The Fifth Court of Appeals, Dallas, Texas, is accepting applications for a Central Staff Attorney.  The attorney in this position will divide their time between assisting with original proceedings, conducting jurisdiction checks, and handling motions.  The position provides opportunities to use initiative and mature judgment in assisting the justices in the disposition of appeals, motions, and original proceedings and involves legal research, analysis of legal issues, and assisting with the preparation of complex memoranda and opinions. Superior academic credentials and writing ability required. Excellent analytical and research skills also required.  Prior experience with original proceedings is preferred.   Applicant must be a licensed Texas Attorney with a minimum of six years of preferably appellate legal experience.
